Nature provides us with an incredible display, albeit seasonally in parts of our world, yet on a relatively constant time frame in others.  They are our food and they bring us joy in so many unique ways.  Here is a tribute to native plants - those that occupy the landscapes they evolved with - and the ecosystems they occupy!

The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in the Sonoran Desert of southern California, in years where rainfall has been above the average of about 6 inches per year, can have a spectacular display in the following spring.  When we visited in February of 2019, rainfall accumulation was about 7.9 inches, which resulted in an amazing Super Bloom!  We were lucky enough to be there at that time!
